We kindly ask that you share this job opportunity within your networks to help us identify the ideal Post-Doctoral candidate for the research project at University Grenoble Alpes, Lethal Frontiers (FrontLet): Counting and Making Visible the Deaths at European Borders. This project is partnered with the UNITED campaign secretariat, Fatal Policies of Fortress Europe.


The University Grenoble Alpes (France) is seeking a Post-Doctoral researcher with a Ph.D. in Informatics / Geomatics. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in human and social sciences and experience in managing diverse spatial data.


The position involves designing an interoperable database by structuring existing datasets, developing a standardized data collection protocol with a web application, and conducting spatial and statistical analyses to understand the factors contributing to deaths within the border regime context.


- Period: From December 15, 2024 to December 14, 2026

- Place of work: Laboratoire Pacte - Cité des territoires, Grenoble (FR)

- French is required for the position

- Deadline for application November 9
